(Laredo, Texas)-United ISD’s New Teacher Orientation Sessions began on Monday, August 10 and will continue through Thursday, August 13. The sessions are being held online, and mark the commencement of the teacher induction process for newly certified teachers and teachers new to the district. The purpose of the sessions is to introduce teachers to the school district’s mission, goals, expectations and procedures. The sessions began with a welcome message from Superintendent Roberto J. Santos.
“We are pleased to welcome our new teachers to the United ISD family. Our District is moving forward with remote learning, and our administrators, principals, and teachers are committed to providing consistent and rigorous instruction on a daily basis. We are also focusing on the emotional well-being of our students as they adjust to receiving their academic instruction at home”, said United ISD’s Deputy Superintendent for Administration and Operations Gloria Rendon. The first day of remote learning (for all United ISD campuses), is Monday, August 24.
