City, County Confirm 6 New COVID-19 Related Deaths

LAREDO, Texas—The City of Laredo and Webb County have confirmed six more deaths in Webb County related to COVID-19. The City and County want to express their most sincere condolences to the families and want them to know that our counselors and our teams are available to support them.

The 150th death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early 60s. He died on Wednesday, August 05, 2020.

The 151st death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early 60s. He died on Friday, August 07, 2020.

The 152nd death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early 70s. He died on Friday, August 07, 2020

The 153rd death of a Webb County resident was a male in his late 40s. He died on Thursday, August 06, 2020.

The 154th death of a Webb County resident was a male in his late 90s. He died on Wednesday, August 05, 2020.

The 155th death of a Webb County resident was a female in her early 80s. She died on Thursday, August 06, 2020.

Stay home if you are sick and call your doctor. Do not go to the doctor’s office, call your doctor first. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.

As of 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 07, 2020, a total of 20,866 people have been tested, 12,277 people have resulted negative, 7,540 have resulted positive (4,717 are active), 1,049 test results are pending, 2,668 persons are estimated recovered, 191 are currently hospitalized (73 of which are in the ICU), eleven patients are currently admitted at the alternate care site, and 155 have died.

In order to safeguard legally-protected information, the City of Laredo is not publically releasing personal or identifiable information regarding any cases as it relates to COVID-19 testing, results or monitoring.
