City, County Confirm New COVID-19 Related Deaths

LAREDO, Texas—The City of Laredo and Webb County have confirmed the 41st, 42nd and 43rd deaths in Webb County related to COVID-19. The City and County want to express their most sincere condolences to the families and want them to know that our counselors and our teams are available to support them.
The 41st COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in his early 70s with underlying health conditions. The person died at a local nursing home on Thursday, July 10, 2020.
The 42nd COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in his late 40s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Doctors Hospital of Laredo on Thursday, July 10, 2020.
The 43rd COVID-19 death of a Webb County resident was a male in his late 50s with underlying health conditions. The person died at Laredo Medical Center on Thursday, July 10, 2020.
The City of Laredo Health Department continues to conduct contact investigation on persons who have tested positive to determine possible exposure to others. If the health department has not contacted you, there is no need to take any action at this time. If you feel ill, please contact your physician and monitor your symptoms.
Stay home if you are sick and call your doctor. Do not go to the doctor’s office, call your doctor first. If it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.
As of 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020, a total of 12,029 test have been submitted, 8,187 people have resulted negative, 2,722 have resulted positive (1,815 are active), 1,120 test results are pending, 864 persons have recovered, 154 are currently hospitalized (51 of which are in the ICU), and 43 have died.
