Washington, D.C.—Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) voted and helped pass a short-term extension of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) through August 8, 2020. The bill will head to the President’s desk for his signature.
“The coronavirus pandemic has inflicted a devastating toll on Texans and their small businesses,” said Congressman Cuellar. “The Paycheck Protection Program is a critical lifeline for more than 4.8 million small businesses across the United States. We must continue to do whatever is necessary to get American small businesses and their employees back on their feet. That’s why I voted for and helped pass the Heroes Act, legislation that extends the PPP to December 31 as well as brings more money into the pockets of hard-working families. As a former small business owner, I am committed to fighting for the economic well-being of workers and small businesses in South Texas, and across the country.”
