United ISD Announces Director of Bilingual Education

(Laredo, Texas)_United Independent School District Board of Trustees and Superintendent Roberto J. Santos are pleased to announce Maria H. Arambula-Ruiz as the new Director of Bilingual Education.
Maria H. Arámbula-Ruiz is a 28-year veteran educator of United ISD with an extensive background in education. She is a graduate of Laredo State University and Texas A&M international University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, as well as a Master of Science in Education, respectively.
For the past eight years, she has served United ISD as the principal of Kazen Elementary. Prior to working as Principal at Kazen, she served as a Principal at R.C. Centeno Elementary and Kennedy Zapata Elementary, and as Assistant Principal at Salvador Garcia Middle School. Prior to that, she was an elementary school teacher for four years.
Mrs. Arambula-Ruiz stated, ” “I would like to thank our United ISD Superintendent and School board for giving me this opportunity. I am thankful to the Kazen Elementary staff and community for allowing me to serve as their principal for the past 8 years. I am looking forward to working with the Curriculum & Instruction departments and school administration in this new role. I am confident that together we will continue to provide the best learning opportunities for our bilingual students.”
Mrs. Arambula-Ruiz will assume her newly appointed position in July 2019.
