Laredo Sector Border Patrol Seeks Person of Interest

LAREDO, TEXAS –The Laredo Sector is asking the community to assist in identifying a subject who fled the Laredo North Station Checkpoint located on Interstate Highway 35 (I-35) at Mile Marker (MM) 29 near Laredo, Texas.
On June 2, 2019, Laredo North Station agents working primary inspection truck lane, referred a tractor-trailer for secondary inspection after a canine alerted to the odor of the presence of concealed humans and/or narcotics. As the tractor proceeded, the driver sped off, fleeing the checkpoint. Agents quickly responded and the tractor-trailer was observed coming to a stop on I-35 near MM 30. Responding agents advised the driver absconded into the brush and were attempting to locate the subject. Agents immediately inspected the vehicle and discovered 52 subjects were inside the trailer.
Person of interest is described as male, 6-foot tall, with a tattoo on his neck. He was last seen wearing a black shirt. Any information regarding the subject contact Laredo Sector Border Patrol toll free at 1-800-343-1994.
Laredo Sector Border Patrol Chief Felix Chavez stated, “We encourage anyone who has information to contact the U.S. Border Patrol. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners and follow up on all leads until this individual is in custody.”
