Lyndon B. Johnson High School Holds Student Lottery for Early College and BLSIA Programs

Courtesy Lauren Cavazos,

(Laredo, Texas)-Lyndon B. Johnson High School (LBJ) recently held a lottery drawing for students who applied to the Early College High School and the Biotechnology & Life Sciences Innovative Academy Early College High School (BLSIA).  Both programs are four-year programs, which run concurrently with advanced high school graduation plans.  If a student is accepted, they must follow a rigorous schedule of dual credit (high school and college credit) classes.

Following this plan, the students will be eligible to graduate with an Associates Degree from Laredo College along with their high school diploma.  To be eligible for the lottery, students must first fill out an application and the parents or guardians of the students must attend a meeting.  Parents were invited to attend the live lottery in the library at LBJ.  A total of 125 student names were drawn to attend the LBJ Early College and 100 student names were drawn to attend BLSIA.  For more information on the Early College program of the BLSIA program, please call LB Johnson High School at 956-473-5100.
