(Laredo, Texas)-Nye elementary is working towards being recognized by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service as a Healthy South Texas Campus. To that end, Nye elementary G.T. students recently shared their healthy eating and exercise projects with their peers in grades Pre-K – 5. Tables were set up in the Nye Elementary gym for exhibits ranging from Healthy Snacks to Food Preparation and Physical Activity.
“There are great incentives to be recognized as a Healthy South Texas Campus, including a proclamation and possible funding for future projects” said Texas A&M University County Extension Agent Angie Sifuentes. She also said that the exhibits were a part of the Dinner Tonight Program, which provides children and their parents with information about healthy eating, lifestyle choices and exercise.
