(McAllen, Texas)-Looking for something to do this New Year’s Eve? Then look no further than 17th Street in the City of McAllen. McAllen boasts the only entertainment district in the Rio Grande Valley and City officials expect large crowds to ring in the new year.
A recently announced downtown News Year’s Eve celebration was unable to obtain all of the necessary permits and has been cancelled by its promotor. However, individuals looking for a location to celebrate the end of 2017 should make plans to enjoy the night life found along 17th Street.
“The health, welfare, safety and security of our residents and attendees is always our priority for organized public events,” said City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodriguez, P.E. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy McAllen’s 17th Street downtown entertainment district.”
“Just make sure to be of age and do not drink and drive,” he stressed.
