McAllen picks up 44 gold awards at TFEA conference

McAllen- The City of McAllen brought home the gold in 44 categories for a variety of special events including the McAllen Holiday Parade, Palmfest and McAllen Marathon.
Numerous departments were recognized at the annual Texas Festivals and Events Association conference held July 27- July 30 in Fort Worth. The McAllen Cable Network, the McAllen Convention Center, Quinta Mazatlan and McAllen Parks and Recreation all submitted entries.
“These awards are truly a testament to the professionalism and passion for the community that all of our City of McAllen employees demonstrate to develop, coordinate and create quality programs and events for citizens to enjoy and experience,” said McAllen City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodriguez, P.E. “I am proud that our staff continues to find unique ways to promote McAllen and all that our city has to offer.”
