“This is truly an example of our CBP officers’ hard work, experience and dedication to the CBP mission,” said Port Director Gregory Alvarez, Laredo Port of Entry. “I congratulate our officers for their dedication which has prevented these dangerous narcotics from entering our country.”

The first seizure occurred on Wednesday, May 3, at the Lincoln-Juarez International Bridge, when a CBP officer referred a 2010 Mercedes SUV, for a secondary examination. A non-intrusive and canine inspection of the commercial shipment resulted in the discovery of two packages containing a total of 59 pounds of alleged marijuana.

Both seizures combined carry an estimated street value of $2,518,067.
