The United States Border Patrol Laredo Sector held their April “Youth of the Month” ceremony at Texas A&M International University. The hosting school for this month’s ceremony was the University’s Texas Academy of International and STEM Studies Program.

Of the eleven students from Laredo area high schools that were honored, four students from United ISD were recognized.

These students were (pictured from L to R): Cinthia Lizette Guzman, United High School; Carlos D. Rocha, United South High School; Mario J. Saldivar, J.B. Alexander High School; and Jesica N. Rivera, from Lyndon B. Johnson High School. The monthly program recognizes high school students who excel in academics, are leaders at their respective campuses, and volunteer their time in the community.

Each honoree received congratulatory items from the U.S. Border Patrol, United States Congress, Texas Senate, Royal Laser Wash, McDonald’s, H.E.B., Area Health Education Center, Rock Fitness Center, Laredo Energy Arena, Entravision, Fox 39, Mundofox, LATV, Unimas, Univision, Meals 4 Lbs., Lin’s Chinese Restaurant, Mattress Firm, Super Transport International, Awardmasterz, Dr. Sara E. Campos, M.D., P.A., Laredo Energy Arena, and the City of Laredo Public Access Channel and many other sponsors.
