Dustdevil Week Aug 3-8 Helps TAMIU Students Transition to Fall

           (Laredo, Texas)- Those planning to attend Texas A&M International University  (TAMIU) this Fall are invited to Dustdevil Week Monday, Aug. 3- Saturday, Aug. 8.

            The free event, open to the public, including graduating high school seniors and transferring students, is designed as a one-stop event where participants can receive information about financial aid, admissions, and academic advising.

They can also register for classes and get on-the-spot admission on site.

            Dustdevil Week will be celebrated in the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center (ZSC) Monday,  Aug. 3 – Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Thursday, Aug. 6 – Friday, Aug. 7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

            “This is the second time we are presenting Dustdevil Week this year, after having had a successful event in June,” said Scheiby Fisher, director of Recruitment and School Relations.  “Anyone in the community who is interested in registering for Fall at TAMIU is welcome to participate and ask all University questions.”

            Fisher said Dustdevil Week is a parent-friendly event designed to make students’ transition to their local University as smooth as possible.

            “Participants will be able to meet with expert college advisors and friendly staff as they make their transition to TAMIU,” she explained.

            A Member of The Texas A&M University System, TAMIU provides over 7,200 students with a learning environment anchored by the highest quality programs built on a solid academic foundation in the arts and sciences.

            The University offers a range of baccalaureate and master’s programs and the Doctor of Philosophy degree in International Business. TAMIU students learn from gifted faculty from all over the world. Integrated Study Abroad and internship programs expand classroom learning beyond all borders.

            Summer University office hours are 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday.  Summer hours end Wednesday, Aug. 5 and revert to 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, starting Thursday, Aug. 6.
