UISD Prom Project Presents At Webb County Courthouse

prom commissCourtesy Carmen Rendon,

On March 23rd, The Webb County Judge and Commissioners held their  regular-called meeting with an extraordinary agenda.  United High School students presented UISD’s 2nd annual Prom Project with a “PROMotional” skit and video.  The twelve-member Prom Promotion Team from United High School included Trey San Miguel, Tara San Miguel, Alyssa Vera, Jovany Perez, Alexandra Leal, Amalie San Miguel, Erik Blake, Isidro Alaniz, Vivian Lopez, Jerry Gonzalez, and Alex Cruz.

UISD’s Prom Project is dedicated to collecting formal dress attire, new or gently used to make sure all UISD high school students have the opportunity to go to their prom affordably, with confidence and in style.

Thank you to Webb County Judge Tijerina and County Commissioners for allowing United ISD the opportunity to present our project and for helping us reach our goal.

A special thanks to Commissioner John Galo for offering his office as a collection site for UISD Prom Project.   You may drop off dresses, suits, shoes, ties and or accessories to Commissioner Galos office on 1000 Houston St. with Patty San Miguel (956-523-4625).  Additionally, UISD is also accepting Prom items at UISD Central Office located at  201 Lindenwood Dr.
