United ISD’s League of Legends Distinguished Alumni Nomination Deadline Approaching

(Laredo, Tx)-Calling of graduates of United ISD high schools. We’re looking for you!

Nominations are currently being accepted for outstanding alums from John B. Alexander High School, Lyndon B. Johnson High School, United High School or United South High School.  Nomination applications are available on the District website at www.uisd.net and are due by February 24, to the Superintendent’s Office located at 201 Lindenwood Drive.

“The League of Legends Distinguished Alumni Program recognizes exceptional graduates who have gone one to make extraordinary contributions to the communities they serve,” said United ISD Superintendent Roberto J. Santos. 

Any individual may nominate a District graduate for this honor.  However, nominees must have graduated at least five years ago or more, have made notable contributions to their profession and community. They should also exhibit personal and professional integrity. Nominees may live in Laredo, surrounding areas or out of state. 

A special selection committee will consider nominees in the following areas:  outstanding service to country or community, career advancement, or philanthropy.  Additional information on each of these specific areas can be found on the nomination form located on the website. 

Supporting documentation such as a resume, news articles, or any other documentation verifying a nominee’s accomplishments may be submitted with the application.

“This is our special way of honoring our alums and letting them know how proud we are of their accomplishments.  They make us United ISD proud!” added Santos.

Applications can be dropped off at the Superintendent’s Office at 201 Lindenwood Drive. The District will select up to 10 individuals, to represent each high school campus to receive this special recognition.  For more information about the League of Legends program, call (956) 473-6201 or 473-6286.
