(Laredo, Tx)-Mayor Salinas received his shadow, Karla Garza, a student from United South High School, who joined him in his mayoral duties throughout the morning. At noon, Mayor Salinas and Karla attended a luncheon, hosted by the Laredo Noon Optimist Club at the Laredo Holiday Inn Civic Center, where the students were recognized for their participation in
International Youth Appreciation Day. “I’m so honored that as mayor, I get to meet the youth of our community and introduce them to municipal government,” said Salinas. “I hope to inspire Karla to see the value of public service and to one day run for mayor of our great city of Laredo, Texas,” he concluded.
