Adolescent Health Symposium
Written by Post Public Information Representative, Nov 13, 2013, Comments Off
(Laredo, Tx)-This is an honest and frank discussion on the emerging threats to youth, not only because of the immediate health risks, but because of the co-morbidities and psychosocial determinants that also align with these health conditions such as teen pregnancy, HIV and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).
Each year over 600 young women in high school get pregnant putting themselves at risk of other infectious diseases and social impacts. Presentations will be given by local physicians. Students that attend will receive ten (10) hours of community service. We invite youth and their parents to attend.
The event will take place on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the UT Health Science Center, 1937 Bustamante Street, Laredo, TX
