8th Graders of Los Obispos Middle School take the pledge to be Drug-Free….

(Laredo, Tx)- Last week, Los Obispos Middle School (UISD) 8th grade “Wild Cats” gathered in the school’s gymnasium for a Red Ribbon Rally. UISD Board Member, Ramiro Veliz, III of District 4 was the honored guest speaker. He explained what his role as Lieutenant for the Constable of Pct. 2 is and focused on the importance of choosing a drug-free life. Chief Interim Clemente Camarillo of UISD Police Department joined in and congratulated all students for taking the pledge to be drug-free.
The students were surprised with a visit from“Safety Sam,” the UISD Police Mascot! To conclude the ceremony, assistant principals unveiled new wall gym mats, which were donated by Board of Trustee Ramiro Veliz, III.
“It is exciting to see our new gym mats that represent our school pride,” said 8th grader Leonardo Guerrero.
