July 18, 2009-Laredo, TX- The Laredo Broncos of the United League announce that former pitcher Tristan Crawford was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies.
Crawford pitched well for the Broncos this season in his short time in Laredo. He went 2-2 with a 3.38 ERA in 10 games pitched. He had one save, struck out 19 batters, and hitters only batted .204 against him. Broncos General Manager Jose Melendez is not surprised that Crawford was singed by the Phillies. “Tristan Crawford has a great arm, and it was only a matter of time before he was purchased. I am glad we were able to get him on his way, to where he belongs.”
This is not Crawford’s first time with a Major League Baseball Club. He has spent many seasons playing in the Minnesota Twins and Washington Nationals organizations. Crawford also is not the only former Bronco in the Phillies organization. Santo Hernandez, the Broncos ace starter from last year, is also pitching for the Phillies in A ball.
