(Laredo, Tx)- City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas launched a new recognition program: Welcoming Laredo’s New Business – Investing in Our Future. “I am proud that these businesses have chosen to come to Laredo and invest in our community, in our people, in our future,” said Mayor Salinas. “They deserve to be recognized for their contributions to our city; especially, for their job creation and positive impact to the Laredo economy, for helping to make our city more prosperous and to move forward. I plan to recognize these new businesses each month; please join me in congratulating these businesses.”
Joining Mayor Salinas for the press conference were: Danny Lopez, Jr., for La Carreta Restaurant; Diego Iturbe for Ancira Volkswagon; Pete Mims for Border Foundry
Restaurant; Tony Dobski, Kristin Dobski, Mike and Danielle Marasco, for McDonald’s of Laredo, Dobski-Marasco Families; Texas State Representative Richard P. Raymond; Dr.
Sergio Guzman and Dr. Christian Cabello, for Little Heroes Pediatric; and Alfonso Arguindegui of Conoco Pump & Shop.
All of these new businesses were recognized for adding new jobs to Laredo the Laredo economy, approximately 250 in new jobs with these new businesses alone. Several talked about
their plans to continue expanding their businesses with either newer, larger locations or additional locations. McDonald’s recently pointed out that the grand re-opening of their Santa
Ursula location set a new national record for the company: the most Big Macs sold for a grand opening in a four-hour time period. That number? 4, 772 Big Macs.
