The entities were recognized for their efforts to get to know the District’s mission and goals, as well as for their efforts to report and highlight positive school news and District information.
The honorees are as follows: R Communications, City of Laredo Public Access Channel, El Diario Newspaper, El Mañana Newspaper, Guerra Communications, I Love Laredo Newspaper, KBNL Radio Station, KGNS, CW, and Telemundo, KHOY Radio Station, LareDOS Newspaper, Laredo Morning Times, Univision, Telefutura, and Fox Television Station, La Mega 95.7, El Lider Newspaper, LaredoBuzz.com, and Greater Laredo Magazine.
“We want to thank each member of our local media because they do an outstanding job in communicating the important messages we have each day to our parents, students, and community,” said UISD Superintendent Roberto J. Santos. “We appreciate journalists who are interested in communicating the challenges and successes of our school district in a fair, balanced, and accurate manner,” Santos added.
The TASB Media Honor Roll Program recognizes news media organizations statewide for improving communication between school districts and its various stakeholders. Laredo’s honorees will now join the various other Texas newspapers, radio, television stations, and online publications that have been inducted by their local school districts.
