Two United High School Athletes Sign With Universities

 scholarship(Laredo, Tx)-As they say in sports, it was a “double-hitter” at United High School as two scholarship ceremonies took place for two Longhorn students. 

Graduating senior Danny Mitchell will be off to North Dakota to play football for Jamestown College .  Danny was surrounded by his family, grandparents, friends, and coaches as he officially inked the deal with the “Jimmies.”  He is pictured with his mom and dad, Aurora and Nicholas Mitchell. 

According to the Jamestown College website (www.jimmieathletics.com), the college proudly offers eight men’s and nine women’s athletic programs in:  golf, basketball, cross country, track & field, soccer, football, volleyball, wrestling, softball, baseball, and dance team.  Five of these sports offer JV level competition schedules:  baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s soccer, and volleyball.

hsAlso, inking a deal with Texas A&M International University was fellow graduating student Hugo Sanchez, Jr.  He will be on the cross country team at the “Dust Devil” campus.  Surrounded by his friends and coaches at the event, he is pictured with his mom and dad, Graciela and Hugo Sanchez. 

Texas A&M International University has a diverse student athletic program as well.  The University offers five programs for men and six programs for women in: baseball, basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball and Volleyball.
