Laredo Police Department officers, including Blue Santa, were welcomed by their friends over at Panda Express to jointly invite the Laredo community to enjoy the delicious foods at the recently opened Panda Express restaurant, located at 2603 N.E. Bob Bullock Loop, this Saturday, December 8, 2012, where 10% of every meal purchased will be donated to the Laredo Police Department’s Blue Santa Program, the non-profit organization that provides toys for needy children in the community, ensuring that every child has a toy to open up on Christmas Day.

 Binh B. Giang, Area Coach of Operations for Panda Express, thanks Blue Santa for the work he does in the Laredo community; in fact, for the work the organization does throughout the country to help children have a merry Christmas.  Giang, who is joined by his friends from Panda Express, went on to thank the Laredo community for the welcoming reception the restaurant has received in the first three weeks of being opened.  Committed to serving their community in ways other than just with delicious food, Panda Express was looking for a way to give back to the community and found that the Blue Santa program is the perfect fit for them.  Investigator Joe E. Baeza, LPD PIO; Interim Police Chief Gilberto Navarro; Officer Laura Montemayor, LPD-Community Relations Unit; and Deputy Chief Guillermo Perez listen in as Giang encourages the community to take a break from their Christmas shopping and stop by to help a good cause and get some great food.

 Additionally, Laredo Police Officers will be at the intersection of Del Mar and McPherson this Saturday, December 8, 2012, from 9 AM – 1 PM, as well, soliciting donations from the community, also to go into the Blue Santa charity program.  They will welcome any and all donations from the community.
