(Laredo, Tx)-Recently, the city of Laredo was bashed by a non-native former Laredoan with a hateful, racist and ill-informed tirade posted on the social media website You Tube. Mr. Jack Strunk, another non-native former Laredoan, who now lives in Lancaster, Kentucky, came to the defense of his former adopted hometown, in an eloquent, heartfelt, and accurate description of our city, also posting his response on You Tube.
City leaders and representatives felt this was worthy of recognition in person, and so, thanks to the generous underwriting of the trip by Dr. Perez and Mr. Ochoa, officials will meet with Mr. Strunk to “Thank Jack,” presenting him with a Key To The City and reading a proclamation, proclaiming Monday, February 20, 2012 as “Jack Strunk Day in Laredo.”
The presentation will take place at 11 AM EST at TAC-Air Executive Terminal Conference Room at Bluegrass Airport, 4308 Hanger Drive, Lexington, KY 40510-9607.
