(Laredo, Tx)_Approximately 700 senior citizens from nine local adult daycare centers will be treated to a pre-holiday Thanksgiving luncheon celebration, with food, music and a chance to win prizes with a fun raffle for the elderly in attendance. Additionally, each senior will be given a food basket.
“We are all so happy and honored to be able to provide food, entertainment, and most importantly, companionship to the elderly in our community,” said Cm. Garza. “This is just one little thing to fulfill our commitment to serving our community,” he concluded.
This is the sixth year in a row that Cm. Garza has hosted the luncheon, serving about 3,000 seniors as a way to celebrate the upcoming holidays, as well as to bring awareness about the state of hunger in the community.
Council Member Mike Garza, District I will be joined at the event by Justice of the Peace Judge Ramiro Veliz, Jr., Pct. 2, Place 1 and UISD Board Member Rick Rodriguez, District 2 who is also the Webb County Constable for Pct.2. The event will take place on Monday November 21st at the Casa Blanca Ballroom.
