City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas honors Francisca ‘Panchita’ Martinez 100th Birthday

(Laredo, TX)- Mayor Raul G. Salinas and Councilwoman Cynthia Liendo spent a memorable afternoon today celebrating the 100th birthday of Mrs. Francisca “Panchita” Martinez with many of her friends and family. Mrs. Martinez was regaled with music provided by a mariachi band and many birthday wishes from all in attendance. “I’m honored to be here to wish Mrs. Martinez a very happy birthday” the Mayor said. “She is truly an inspiration to us all” , Mayor Salinas went on to say. “Mrs. Martinez’ energy and active lifestyle is admirable . She no doubt sets an example for younger generations to emulate”, Councilwoman Liendo said of Mrs. Martinez.
Mayor Salinas presented a birthday card sent by President Barack Obama and the First Lady, Michelle Obama, as well as a birthday plaque on behalf of the City of Laredo to Mrs. Martine. The festivities continued with music, dancing, cake and refreshments.
