LISD Summer Graduates Receive Diplomas

 The Laredo Independent School District’s Class of 2011 summer graduates received their high school diplomas during a commencement ceremony earlier this week at the J.W. Nixon High School Annex. Commencement ceremonies were held for students from Martin, Nixon, Cigarroa, and the Early College High Schools who completed their high school requirements over the summer.  Attending the ceremony, were LISD Superintendent Dr. A Marcus Nelson, LISD Board Trustee Vice-President Jesus Martinez, LISD Board of Trustee Dr. Cecilia May Moreno and Hector Garcia, LISD administrators, school principals and vice-principals, teachers, parents, and family members.

During the ceremony, 30 students received their diplomas. With their diplomas in-hand, students posed for pictures with Superintendent Nelson, Board Trustees Martinez, Moreno, Garcia and school principal.

 The graduates from Martin High School are Jessica Castillo, Emma Judith Castillo, Juan Ignacio Chong, Juan Jose Garza, Rito Javier De Anda, Maria Teresa Gonzalez, Jose Raul Hernandez, Pablo Francisco Quiroz, Dora Maria Ramos, Rogelio Rossel Jr., and Licela Venegas.

 The graduates from Nixon High School are Ryan William Garza, Victor Herrera, Christopher John Lopez, April Monique Lozoya, Esmeralda Martinez, Juan Jose Moreno, Daniel Quinonez, Jorge Posadas, and Rebecca D. Villarreal from Nixon High School. 

The graduates from Cigarroa High School are Erick Humberto Flores, Armando Gonzalez Jr., Griselda Alicia Guerra, Juan Jose Hernandez, Ricardo Alexis Hernandez, Jose Luis Maldonado, Cesar Xavier Martinez, Carlos Ignacio Miranda, and Janet Torres.

 The Early College High School’s graduate was Saul A. Canales.

 After the ceremony, cameras were still flashing as the students and their principals, were greeted by proud parents and family members.
