New Loop 20 Overlay Project

LAREDO, Tx-“ Beginning on Saturday, August 6, 2011, Anderson Columbia, Inc. will begin a new construction project located on Loop 20 between Grand Central Blvd. and 0.54 miles north of US 59 (Saunders Ave.). Road construction will consist of an Ultra Thin Bonded Wearing Course (3/4″ asphalt overlay) and pavement markings. Work will commence on the north end at Grand Central Blvd. (CSJ: 0086-14-049)
The contractor will be working during daylight hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. until the start of school, August 22, 2011. Thereafter, any unfinished work will be conducted beginning in the evening from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.During the first week, the contractor will begin work on turn outs and turning lanes located throughout the full length of the project. Once this work is completed, road overlay work to the Loop 20 main lanes will begin.
Alternating lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should SLOW DOWN, prepare to MERGE TO OPEN(S), and drive with extreme caution keeping a watchful eye for work crews.
All advance warning signs, road markings and channelization devices in and around the work area should be observed by the traveling public.
