LAREDO, Tx – After a 9 a.m. morning conference conducted by the Texas Department of Texas Maintenance Division in conjunction with several TxDOT districts, it was determined that Tropical Storm Don was a non-event. “A little rain, but that was all. Good exercise, good way to prepare for an event,” said Maintenance Division Information Specialist Randy Ormsby. The tropical storm system slipped into Mexico .
TxDOT districts reported:
- Corpus Christi District – No needs, very little weather, not much more than a little mist and wind. It did allow us to train some of our new employees.
- Pharr District – Our folks were patrolling until about 11:00 p.m. Good training exercise.
- Laredo District – No rain at all.
- El Paso District – No wind, nice and sunny, a bit of a breeze.
TxDOT administration congratulated staff for their work, time and dedication.
