SH 359 – Loop 20 – BU 35 ( San Bernardo ) Road Resurfacing Work
LAREDO – Weather permitting beginning Sunday, June 26, 2011 and every night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for four nights, Cox Paving Company will conduct road resurfacing work on SH 359 and Loop 20 in south Laredo, and to Business (BU) 35 on San Bernardo Avenue in the heart of city’s west side business district.
Specifically, work will take place Sunday, June 26, 2011 on SH 359 from the Chacon Creek Bridge to 1.0 mile east of Loop 20, Monday, June 27, 2011 on Loop 20 from SH 359 to US 83 South ( Zapata Highway ), and Tuesday-Wednesday, June 28-29, 2011 on Business (BU) 35-San Bernardo Ave. from Calton Rd. to Matamoros St.
Alternating lane closures will be in effect at each location every night during road resurfacing work. Therefore, the traveling public should be prepared to slow down, merge to open lane(s), expect minor delays, and observe all advanced warning signs, road markings and channelization devices in and around the work area.
Motorists are strongly urged to MOVE all vehicles from the road and shoulders on SH 359, Loop 20 and BU 35 (San Bernardo Ave.) between said limits at stated times. Any vehicles found parked on designated roads and shoulders during nighttime road resurfacing work will be removed by wrecker at the owner’s expense.
Cox Paving Company is performing road resurfacing work at an approximate cost of $618,000. Work consists of a seal coat process with rubberized asphalt.
