ALLEGIANT CELEBRATES 5-YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Airport offers rental car services, great dining, and Duty Free…
On June 8, 2006, Allegiant began non-stop service from the Laredo International Airport to Las Vegas, NV. Five years later, Allegiant offers 5 weekly non-stop flights to Las Vegas and 2 weekly non-stop flights to Orlando from LRD. This 5-Year Anniversary was celebrated on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the terminal with the City of Laredo Mayor, Raul G. Salinas, presenting Allegiant employees with a Certificate of Appreciation. Mayor Salinas proclaimed, “Allegiant has the best deals and we appreciate the long relationship between the City of Laredo and Allegiant”.
The Laredo International Airport offers not only passengers, but the general public and citizens additional amenities including car rental services, dining, and a Duty Free store inside the terminal building.
Car rental services are offered through 5 national car rental companies including Hertz, National, Avis, Budget, and Enterprise. These rental services are open to the general public, in addition to airline passengers, and they always have cars available for rental.
Food and refreshments are available on the first floor of the terminal at the Villa Laredo Restaurant. Villa Laredo is known for its barbeque while offering generous portions of all your Mexican food favorites. They are open 7 days a week, Monday-Friday (5am-6:30pm), Saturday (6am-4:30pm) and Sunday (7am-7pm). Villa Laredo also offers excellent daily lunch specials from 11-3pm.
UETA Duty Free offers both passengers and the general public great prices on perfumes, magazines, and snacks. For international airlines passengers, UETA also carries a wide range of bottled alcohol and cigarettes. The general public is invited to visit UETA before making their next perfume purchase. UETA is open Monday-Friday (6:30am-7pm), Saturday (9am-4pm) and Sunday (9am-6pm) 365 days a year.
This weekend only, passengers can travel from Laredo to Houston for $138 round-trip, including taxes on Continental Airlines. This special is through Travelocity.com or Cheapair.com and has restrictions. For this special, passengers must depart on Saturday, June 11, 2011 and return on either Monday, June 13 or Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Availability is limited.
Via www.travelocity.com and www.cheapair.com, there are many additional airfare specials from Laredo to various destinations in the South and Midwest including Cincinnati, OH, Colombia, SC, El Paso, TX, Kansas City, MO, and St. Louis, MO. Round-trip airfare to dozens of destinations can be purchased for less than $400 round trip. Availability is limited and travel must be done on Tuesday-Thursday for many of these specials.
