US 83 Rehab Work between Catarina and Asherton

LAREDO – A highway rehabilitation project for US 83 in Dimmit County will begin May 2, 2011 between Catarina and Asherton. Advanced project start signs will be placed April 25, 2011 followed placement of barricades throughout project limits on April 28, 2011.
One-way traffic control will be in effect throughout project limits, meaning one lane will be open in each direction at any given time for safe alternating passage through the work zone. The traveling public should be prepared to STOP and EXPECT 5-10 MINUTE DELAYS. Please observe all advanced warning signs, road markings and channelization devices in and around the work zone.
Official limits for the 10.135 mile road rehab project are from Asherton (South) city limits to 1.641 miles north of FM 133. Work will consist of road resurfacing and placement of pavement and pavement markers. Hunter Industries, Ltd. will construct the project at a cost of $1,387,058.74. Work completion is anticipated in one month approximately, weather permitting.
