City of Laredo District VIII Council Member Gene Belmares was at the Laredo Police Department Headquarters, flanked by Chief of Police Carlos Maldonado, Assistant Chief Martinez, Assistant Chief Perez, Assistant Chief Narvaez, the LPD Community Relations Unit, uniformed officers and representatives from Webb County Pct. 1 Constable Rudy Rodriguez’s Office, as well as Blue Santa, to present the prizes to the winners of the various skills contests that took place during the 6th Annual Holiday Bowl.   Chief Maldonado expressed his gratitude to Cm. Belmares for hosting the Holiday Bowl for the past six years, which has been able to garner not only thousands of toys for needy kids in Laredo, but also, bringing positive messages of hard work and discipline with the inclusion of the Dallas Cowboys legend, this year with Drew Pearson.  Cm. Belmares spoke of his love for the game, even if the City lost in embarrassing fashion.
