LAREDO, TX – This week, Congressman Henry Cuellar hosted House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (CA-33), the highest-ranking Latino in Congress, and Congressman Joaquin Castro (TX-20) for a community roundtable featuring local business leaders and key stakeholders.

Participants at the roundtable included: Monica Martinez, Executive Director of the Laredo Chamber of Commerce; Sylvia Bruni, Webb County Democratic Chair; Sandra Alaniz, owner, RE/MAX; and Daniel Covarrubias, Director of the Texas Center for Border Economic and Enterprise Development at Texas A&M International University.

“I was humbled to have Congressman Pete Aguilar and Congressman Joaquin Castro here in support of my reelection campaign. In Congress, we have worked closely on the issues that matter most: bringing down costs, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and passing commonsense legislation that keeps Americans safe while keeping families together. Come January, I look forward to continuing that work in a Democratic majority,” said Congressman Henry Cuellar.

“Henry Cuellar has spent years delivering real results for South Texas, and I’m proud to stand with him in his re-election. From supporting small businesses and creating good-paying jobs to lowering costs and improving border security and infrastructure, Henry is fighting for a strong economy that supports hardworking families,” said Congressman Pete Aguilar.

“I’m glad to support my friend Henry Cuellar this November. Henry has spent his career fighting for South Texas working families. He has the experience and skill to break through Washington gridlock and deliver real results for his district, and I look forward to continuing to work together with him in the next Congress,” said Congressman Joaquin Castro.

As the longest serving elected official in South Texas, Rep. Cuellar has supported Democrats up and down the ballot, and next year will serve as the dean of the Texas congressional delegation, where he will continue fighting for hardworking men and women of South Texas.
