LAREDO, Texas — The City of Laredo, District 6 Council Member Dr. Tyler King and Keep Laredo Beautiful invite the community to celebrate Arbor Day on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Divine Mercy Park.
The annual celebration will bring together residents, volunteers and community partners to promote environmental stewardship, encourage tree planting and highlight the importance of preserving and enhancing Laredo’s green spaces.
As part of the festivities, District 6 Council Member Dr. Tyler King will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the addition of new trees, a solar pergola and other improvements at Divine Mercy Park. The ceremony will also recognize the generosity and contributions of community partners, including PEG Energy, which donated the solar pergola, helping enhance the park’s amenities and provide additional outdoor gathering spaces for residents.
The Arbor Day celebration will offer community members an opportunity to participate in environmental beautification efforts while learning about the importance of trees and sustainable practices. Community service hours will be provided to participating volunteers.
The event is made possible through the collaboration and support of community organizations and sponsors, including Rotary, PEG Energy, AEP Texas, H-E-B, Arca Continental and Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages.
Residents interested in participating in the Arbor Day activities are encouraged to register in advance. For additional information, contact Keep Laredo Beautiful at 956-794-1655 or ke******************@***il.com.
The City of Laredo encourages residents to take part in this celebration and join its continued efforts to create a greener, more sustainable and welcoming community for future generations.
