LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo officially launched Laredo Votes 2026, a nonpartisan voter education campaign led by the City of Laredo Public Information Office through a Mayor and City Council initiative.
The campaign was announced during a press conference at City Hall and is designed to provide residents with accessible, accurate information about the upcoming City elections, important voting dates, registration requirements, voting options, and opportunities to become more informed before casting their ballots.

Laredo Votes builds on a previous City voter education initiative that provided residents with information about the election process and encouraged greater community participation.

Check their voter registration status.
Learn important voter registration deadlines.

City to Host Political Forums
As part of Laredo Votes 2026, the City of Laredo will host a series of Political Forums for the City positions appearing on the November ballot.

Youth Council to Participate in Political Forums
The City is also incorporating young voters into the Laredo Votes initiative through the Laredo Youth Council.
Youth Council members who are 18 years of age and eligible to vote in the November election are being invited to participate as student panelists during the Political Forums. Student panelists will have the opportunity to ask questions to participating candidates, with questions submitted in advance to the Public Information Office for review and approval.
The City is also inviting members of the Laredo Youth Council to attend the forums as members of the audience and experience the civic process firsthand.

Community Resources and Partnerships
The Laredo Public Library is also participating in the voter education effort. Library locations have voter registration cards available for residents, and the Library serves as a voting location during elections, providing another community resource for residents seeking information and assistance with the voting process.
The City also welcomed representatives from both the Webb County Democratic Party and the Webb County Republican Party at the launch.

Both organizations participated in the City’s previous Laredo Votes initiative by helping share voter education information with their respective communities. The City is once again working with both organizations to help amplify accurate, nonpartisan election information throughout Laredo.
The participation of community organizations and partners is intended to help ensure residents have access to reliable election information regardless of their political affiliation.
A Nonpartisan Effort
Laredo Votes 2026 does not support or oppose any candidate or political party.
The City’s role is to provide residents with information and resources so they can make their own informed decisions.
Residents are encouraged to follow the City of Laredo’s official communication channels throughout the campaign for election reminders, voter education information, Political Forum announcements, and other resources.
