Rep. Cuellar Attends Announcement Celebrating $2 Million in Federal Water Infrastructure Investments for Zapata County and Siesta Shores WCID

Laredo, TX – On Tuesday, June 16, U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar, Ph.D. (TX-28), attended an announcement celebrating $2 Million in federal investment through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Emergency Community Water Assistance Grant (ECWAG) Program for Zapata County and the Siesta Shores Water Control and Improvement District.

The investment includes a $1 million award to Zapata County for critical water infrastructure improvements and a separate $1 million award to the Siesta Shores Water Control and Improvement District, which will support the modernization of its water system through advanced filtration controls and water recovery technology.

Together, these projects will strengthen water reliability, improve efficiency, enhance water quality, and support the long-term needs of the community.
