UISD Honors Teachers/ Employees at Annual Awards Banquet

(Laredo, Texas)-It was a scene filled with anticipation and joy. This year’s annual UISD Employee Awards Banquet was held at Altezza Events and featured entertainment by the Trautmann Middle School Shorthorn Jazz Band, directed by Jorge Garcia. Highlights of the evening included awards for Teachers Of The Year, Instructional Paraprofessionals of The Year, Non -Instructional Paraprofessional/Auxiliary Employees Of The Year, Paraprofessional Of The Year, and Auxiliary Staff Member Of The Year.* Each winner was presented with an award by the Board of Trustees and Superintendent of Schools Roberto J. Santos.
The Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year will select and drive new automobiles from the Powell Watson Auto Group for one full year at no cost to them. The first and second place runner-ups for the Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year Awards received $1,500.00 and $1,000.00 gift certificates respectively from Ashley Home Store of Laredo. The UISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent Roberto J. Santos thank all award recipients for their commitment to excellence.
