Lyndon B. Johnson Mighty Wolf Band Qualifies for Regionals

(Laredo, Texas)-This year, the LBJ High School Mighty Wolf Band has been pushing with all their might on the road to qualify for the Area G Marching Contest. On their first outing on October 6th, the LBJ Mighty Wolf Band gave a strong first performance and earned 1st Division ratings at the UISD Marching Festival in Laredo, Texas.
The following week, a doubleheader put the band’s concentration and stamina to the test. They performed at the Weslaco Marching Festival preliminary round in the morning. In the afternoon, they left for Pharr, TX for the PSJA Marching Festival where the band performed again, earning their second set of 1st Division rating of the season. It was in Pharr where the band waited anxiously for the news of the results of the prelims of Weslaco. Our doubleheader had become a triple as the LBJ Mighty Wolf Band advanced to the finals being selected in the top 8 of 24 bands! The third performance of the day was the best one, as each show kept getting better and better. The Mighty Wolf Band hopes to perform even better for the Region 14 UIL Marching Contest this weekend and advance to the Area G Marching Contest.
