(Laredo, Texas)- United South High School seniors who select the Business Pathway are required to take an array of courses for Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) certification**.The CLA certification provides students with fundamental knowledge needed to understand the world of supply chain logistics and related core competencies, including safety, quality control, communications, teamwork, good workplace conduct, and familiarity with the key computer systems that underpin supply chain operations.
Each class, (with the exception of accounting, which is taken during their sophomore year), is completed within nine weeks during their senior year. After completion, students obtain a one-semester certificate (Logistics Technician), from Laredo Community College. Students have the option to pursue the Certified Logistics Associate (CLA), which is a national industry certification as part of the Global Logistics Management class. For the 2017-2018 school year, 67 students obtained the one semester certificate and 32 challenged and passed the CLA certification.
