(Laredo, Texas)-Students at Arndt Elementary began their Wednesday morning talking about their future collegiate aspirations and how to not only achieve them, but how to pay for it as well. IBC and Commerce Bank President & CEO Ignacio Urrabazo Jr. treated students to an in depth discussion about setting achievable goals and how to make good choices with their money.
IBC Bank began the corporate-wide initiative of teaching personal finance lessons to youth in 2007. Schools throughout Texas and Oklahoma partner with IBC Bank and Commerce Bank to host free Money Smart classes. The bank teaches financial literacy courses to elementary, middle and high school students, as well as local community groups.
