Last Day for Early Voting for District 1 Special Election is Today

McAllen, TX–  The City of McAllen is holding a special election run-off for registered voter residents of McAllen City Commission District 1 on Saturday, March 3, 2018, to fill the unexpired term of District 1 Commissioner Richard Cortez who resigned to run for another office.  Today is the last day for Early Voting for this office, until 7:00 p.m..  

 Early voting by personal appearance today is at the following three locations:

  • Fireman’s Pump House – 201 North 1st Street
  • Palm View Community Center – 3401 Jordan Avenue
  • Lark Community Center – 2601 Lark Avenue

 

Election Day will take place Saturday, March 3 from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Gonzalez Elementary located at 201 Martin Avenue.

The City of McAllen purchased new electronic voting machines that will be used exclusively for this election during both Early Voting and Election Day. Paper ballots will not be used for this election.  The machines are different than the ones owned by Hidalgo County.
