United ISD High Schools Named National Champions  at National Cheer Association Competition

(Laredo, Texas)-The National Cheer Association Competition (NCA) hosts an annual competition where high energy performances coupled with a level of athleticism take center stage. United ISD is proud to announce cheerleaders from John B. Alexander, Lyndon B. Johnson High and United South High have cheered and chanted their way to begin named 2018 National Champions.
Hundreds of the best high school cheer groups competed in the coveted National Cheer Association Competition arm in arm alongside the nation’s top cheer groups. The two day competition was held in Dallas, Texas. United High School Cheerleaders are scheduled to participate and compete in February.
United ISD cheer groups placed and won in the following NCA Categories:
John B. Alexander High Intermediate Medium High School 
LBJ Intermediate Non-Tumbling
USHS Advanced Non-Tumbling 
 
“Our cheerleaders often serve as the support system to our sports team and it’s now that we not only support, but praise them them for this accomplishment,” stated Roberto J. Santos, Superintendent for United ISD. “We are extremely proud of their hard work,” he added
