Man Pleads Guilty to 35 years for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child

The District Attorney’s Office has secured a guilty plea in its case against Genaro Efren Uribe, 34, for sexually abusing a relative under 14 years of age.

The case came to light on November 11, 2016, when the victim out cried to her mother stating that a male relative, Genaro Uribe, had sexually molested her for over a year. The victim’s mother immediately called the Laredo Police Department to file a sexual assault of a child report. The Special Investigation Unit was called to assist in the case who subsequently took the victim to a local hospital and the Children’s Advocacy Center to undergo a forensic interview. The victim stated that the sexual assaults took place during several occasions at their home.

Genaro Efren Uribe was arrested and charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, a first-degree felony in the State of Texas.

Genaro Efren Uribe plead guilty to continuous sexual abuse of a child before the 406th District Court Judge Oscar J. Hale Jr. Uribe was sentenced to 35 years to serve with no possibility of parole and will begin his sentence immediately at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Correctional Institution Division.

Assistant District Attorneys Linda Garza, Joaquin Rodriguez and Julia Rubio prosecuted the case for the State.
