Texas-sized competition to promote healthy living
McAllen , Texas- Mayor Jim Darling and the McAllen City Commission recently voted to have the city compete in the It’s Time Texas Community Challenge, a statewide competition where residents earn points for their community by simply making healthier choices. Simply register for the Community Challenge – make sure to select McAllen – and encourage family, friends and co-workers to compete, as well.
“This is an amazing opportunity for McAllen residents to get healthy, and possibly win some grant money to increase community healthy activity opportunities and have bragging rights over same-sized cities in Texas,” said Mayor Darling. “I encourage everyone to sign up and to do all of the very simple and healthy activities identified in the It’s Time Challenge to help McAllen earn points.”
