TAMIU Spring 2018 Registration Underway

(Laredo, Texas)_Spring 2018 is just around the corner at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU). Registration for Spring classes is underway in offices and online at uconnect.tamiu.edu
University offices will close in a State-authorized holiday observance at noon on Friday, Dec. 22.
Administrative offices reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018 at 8 a.m.
Spring semester classes start Tuesday, Jan. 16. Registration continues through Monday, Jan. 22. A list of Signature Courses offered during the Spring semester and their descriptions can be found here: http://www.tamiu.edu/uc/signaturecourses/whataresignaturecourses.shtml
Signature Courses, which target freshman students, are unique courses that intertwine varied disciplines so that an integrated inquiry is pursued. They are part of the core curriculum, which provide opportunities for students to explore cross-disciplinary topics through the development of rigorous intellectual skills expected of college students.
During Fall 2017, a total of 7,654 enrolled students chose to ‘Go Beyond’ at TAMIU.
In 2017, TAMIU garnered several accolades that placed its visibility on the national platform. For example, the 2017 Student Success Ratings by Eduventures of Public Universities offering graduate degrees, ranked TAMIU 1st in Texas for Student Retention. TAMIU ranked third in the nation among colleges with the highest income mobility rates. Findings were published in The New York Times.
TAMIU ranks third among the 10 Best Colleges for Mathematics Majors in Texas according to a ranking by online source, Zippia.com. TAMIU ranked 4th in the national Top Ten Best Bang of he Buck among Southern Colleges in the 2017 Washington Monthly College Guide Rankings.
