Rosa Salazar receives the K-12 Distinguished Teaching Award from The National Council for Geographic Education

(Laredo, Texas)-The National Council for Geographic Education (NCGE), recognized United High School teacher Rosa Salazar with the K-12 Distinguished Teaching Award at a special ceremony held during the 2017 National Conference on Geography Education in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Salazar is one of only eight educators in the nation to receive the award. For over a 100 years, the NCGE has worked to enhance the status and quality of geography teaching and learning at all levels of instruction.
Through its awards program, NCGE recognizes excellence in geography teaching, mentoring, research, instructional design, and service. Ms. Salazar has taught for 20 years, and has devoted the past 10 years to teaching Geography, the Humanities and Social Studies at UISD.
