United ISD STAAR Assessment Test Results for 2016-2017

(Laredo, Texas)-The recent State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR),results indicate that United ISD is leading both the state and the region in the areas of Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies in all grade levels tested. United ISD trails the state by only 1 point in Reading / English Language Arts and scored above Region I by 4 points. The Reading / ELA area will continue to be our focus as we plan for the 2017-18 school year.*
“Although the demographic data indicates United ISD educates students with greater challenges than the state, it is clear that the focused efforts of our magnificent teaching staff and campus administrators are paying off. Our United ISD Board and district administrators continue to work together towards the realization of our goal of improved student achievement”, said Emma Leza, Executive Director of Instructional Accountability. “It is our mission to inspire all students to become responsible world citizens by pursuing excellence through life-long learning,” she added. United ISD thanks parents and the community at large for their invaluable support. The District will continue to serve its students with great pride and commitment to ensure that they are well-prepared for the future.
