TAMIU 21st Annual Western Hemispheric Trade Conference Ends Friday

tamiu (Laredo, Texas)-Experts, academics, and students on international business will once again present at and attend the 21st Annual Western Hemispheric Trade Conference at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) through Friday, April 7.

            Full Conference registration is $300. Separate registration for each of the luncheon keynote addresses is also available for $20 each. Admission to the Wednesday, April 5 IBC Bank Keynote Speaker Series is free and open to the public.

            The Conference is co-sponsored by the TAMIU A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business Center for the Study of Western Hemispheric Trade in partnership with the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas Facultad de Comercio, Administración y Ciencias Sociales.

Dr. George Clarke, TAMIU Distinguished Associate Professor and BBVA Compass Bank Group Chair, will present “Changes in U.S. Labor Markets in the 21st Century” at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 7, SC 236.

            Also on April 7 in the SC ballroom at 1 p.m., political science and author, Dr. I. M. “Mac” Destler will present “Can the American Free-Trade System Survive?” Destler is the Saul Stern Professor of Civic Engagement in the University of Maryland School of Public Policy.
