(Laredo, Texas)-On Valentine’s Day weekend, treat yourself or someone special in your life to a romantic Planetarium evening in Laredo. A romantic theme, complete with refreshments, appetizers, a box of chocolates, a rose and a night of romantic legends about constellations will be featured.
Romance Under the Stars” is scheduled Saturday, February 11 at 7 p.m. and Monday, February 13 at 7p.m. at the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium. It is open to the public and $25 per person, or $40 per couple. Those attending must be 21 or older and have a valid ID.
The shows will feature a presentation about the romantic love stories in Greek mythology and the constellations associated with mythical characters. Romantic music under the stars will follow with visuals from the universe. Then, after a break for food and refreshments, the Planetarium presents “A Starry Tale” with great artwork and graphics from famous Japanese artist Kagaya.
“A Starry Tale,” which features spectacular anime-style graphics by Kagaya, tells the story of constellations created thousands of years ago and handed down generation after generation. It shows the movement of the sun, moon and planets against constellations with accompanying Greek myths.
This is the third year the Planetarium presents “Romance Under the Stars.”
